Don’t know whether to choose a laptop or a tablet? Like something a bit different? The Acer Iconia Dual Screen might just be the product you’ve been waiting for.
Acer seem to be bridging the gap between traditional office productivity and demanding multimedia content with their Iconia 6120, and while the design is very attractive, is it practical?

Acer Iconia Dual Screen First Impressions
At 2.5 kilo-grams, it’s a bit on the heavy side. When it’s closed, it looks like an ordinary laptop. Open it up, and you’ll find two 14-inch HD LED touch-screens covered in super-strong Gorilla Glass.
The Acer Iconia Dual Screen design isn’t exactly a brand new concept, we’ve seen similar designs before, such as the Courier Tablet from Microsoft, which never made it to production, and the Libretto W100 notebook from Toshiba. However, the Iconia 6120′s backlit LED touch-screen are double the size of the Libretto W100′s.
Although Acer describes it as ultra-thin, at 1.24-inches thick and a 3-hour battery life, it feels a lot more like a full-sized laptop.
The Performance
With a Quad-Core i5 CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel HD graphics, HD audio, and a 750GB Hard-Disk, the Acer Iconia Dual Screen laptop can be easily classified as a high-end device. Connectivity options like 3x USB (1x 3.0), HDMI, and VGA are also typical of a high-end laptop.
The main attraction for us was of course the dual screens, but we were a little worried that keyboard would be too difficult to use. In practice though, even if it did feel strange at first, it actually works rather well. The typing experience is far closer to that of the iPad than any of the other Windows-based tablets we’ve tried, which is a good thing.
