Regardless of what your reasons for using Twitter are, you can never have too many followers, especially if you’re using it as a marketing or promotional tool. A lot of people swear that it is the quality of followers that count, not the quantity, but I’d strongly disagree with that. Even if your followers are really interested in the subjects or topics you tweet about, very few of them will actually be online when you create your tweet, so quantity does matter! I’m going to show you different ways to get more Twitter followers free, as well as a few other tips you’ll find useful.
Get more Twitter followers free
The benefits of having more Twitter followers are quite obvious, they increase your influence, traffic to your website, and ultimately your sales, if you’re selling a product or service.
1. Follow Exchange
This is by far the easiest way to get more Twitter followers free, but keep in mind that the quality of these followers isn’t great, certainly not as good as someone who follows you through good quality content, but pretty much on par with buying followers, except it’s free!
There’s quite a few follow exchanges out there, some good, some not so good. One of the best ones is Twiends. Twiends stands head and shoulders above the rest because of the amount of users they have.
It’s really simple, you earn credits by following people, then use they credits to have people follow you. I’ve used this for quite a while and gained around 500-700 followers just by logging in for a couple of minutes here and there. So far, not many people have unfollowed me. Twiends also lets you buy credits, but I’m guessing you wouldn’t be interested in that option since you’re looking to get more Twitter followers free.
2. Make your presence on Twitter known
This one is incredibly easy, yet it’s the most effective way to get more Twitter followers free that are of good quality. Make your presence known! If people don’t know you’re on Twitter, how can you expect them to follow you? Make sure you’ve got a Tweet or “Follow Me” button on your site or blog.
I’d recommend the Sociable plugin for WordPress, or Sociable for Joomla, both are free.
3. Share valuable content
Make sure your Tweets are valuable. Whatever your goals are, this is very important. You don’t necessarily have to Tweet about your own content, share good posts from other writers that you think your followers will like. The main point here is to share great content regularly that your followers will look forward to and want to pass on to their followers. Again, this is essential!
4. Use Hashtags
Hashtags help people who aren’t following you find your Tweets. For example, when a user types something like “tech tips” into the search box on Twitter, they are more likely to see your tweet if you used the hashtag “#techtips”. If your Tweet is useful or interesting, there’s a good chance that they’ll want to follow you.
